Carmel, IN, United States (4E Sports) – Vijay Singh carded a 6-under-par 66 on Friday to take a one-stroke lead after two rounds of the BMW Championship at rain-soaked Crooked Stick Golf Club.

Singh had seven birdies and a bogey on the day to get to 13-under 131. He leads Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Ryan Moore by one.

Singh has not won on the PGA Tour since 2008 but has show signs this season of putting it together and ending the streak. He still has a long way to go and has some big names in pursuit, but is again in position to make a run at a victory.

”I’ve got to keep it going,” Singh said. ”I’ve been playing well for two days for a while now, but I need four days of good playing. Sooner or later, I think four days is going to happen. And hopefully, it starts this week.”

Woods followed up an opening 65 with a 67 on Friday to get to 12-under. He bested playing partner McIlroy by one stroke after McIlroy opened with a 64 on Thursday to edge Woods by one.

Ryan Moore is also at 12-under after a second round of 66.

Lee Westwood (65) and Bo Van Pelt (69) are just two shots back.

Rain over the last couple days has softened the course and players have been attacking it. Tee times were moved up Friday to beat the rain and pushed back Saturday to allow the course to soak up more rain overnight.

”You come to a Pete Dye golf course, and you don’t expect to see 13-under par leading after two days,” Woods said.
