CURWENSVILLE – The Curwensville Lady Tide opened their 2012 volleyball season on Tuesday when they hosted the Lady Beavers of DuBois.
DuBois went on to sweep Curwensville by the scores of 20-25, 15-25, and 14-25.
Curwensville head coach Sandy Bailor commented on the loss by saying that, “DuBois has a nice team. They were very strong at the service line and that is what hurt us tonight. Passing is a very important skill in volleyball; if you can’t pass the ball up we can’t set up our offense. We did have some nice volleys, but would lose the point due to a lack of communicating. We need to work on getting that first pass to our setters and to communicate more, if we can do that we are going to win alot of matches.”
The Lady Tide (0-1) will be back in action on September 11 when they travel to Brookville.
The Tide junior varsity picked up a win in the preliminary match 25-18, 9-25, 15-10.
