One Killed in ATV Accident in Brady Township

BRADY TOWNSHIP – A Cortland, OH man was killed in an all-terrain vehicle accident at approximately 1:15 a.m. Sunday on Ridge Road east of Swope Hill Road in Brady Township, the DuBois-based state police reported.

The man was identified as Gregory P. Bickel, 54, of Cortland OH. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clearfield County Deputy Coroner.  His passenger Jeffery Bickel, 28, of Warren, OH sustained major injuries as a result of the accident.

Gregory Bickel was traveling westbound on Ridge Road and negotiating a left-hand curve in the roadway. The ATV traveled off the north berm and into a ditch/culvert, and then it impacted a tree.

The accident remains under investigation at this time. State police were assisted by the Brady Township Volunteer Fire Department, Brady Township Ambulance and DuBois Emergency Medical Services.
