ECC Sweeps Lady Bison Tennis Team

ST. MARYS — Defending champion Elk County Catholic proved that they are the team to beat once again in District 9 girls tennis after dismantling the Lady Bison of Clearfield 9-0 on Thursday afternoon.
ECC not only swept the Lady Bison singles players, but posted shut out victories in all five matches.
Clearfield (0-4) will once again hit the road instead of hosting their first match in three years when they travel to Huntingdon on Wednesday September 5.
Singles Results:
1. Yesh Patel (clfd) lost to Laira Reuscher (ecc) 0-6, 0-6.
2. Lauren Witmer (clfd) lost to Maria Gismondi (ecc) 0-6, 0-6.
3. Rayanna Kavelak (clfd) lost to Kristin Dippold (ecc) 0-6, 0-6.
4. Abbi Welker (clfd) lost to Sophie Herzing (ecc) 0-6, 0-6.
5. Emily Ramsey (clfd) lost to Abby Wittman (ecc) 0-6, 0-6.
Doubles Results:
1. Patel/Kavelak (clfd) lost in a pro set match to Maria Seacchitti/Rachael Stauffer (ecc) 3-8.
2. Ramsey/Witmer (clfd) lost in a proset match to Linnea Stager/Elizabeth Nicklas (ecc) 1-8.
