Tulsa, OK, United States (4E Sports) – Tulsa Shock snapped their five-game losing streak Friday after defeating the Chicago Sky in overtime, 81-78, at BOK Center.
Riquna Williams and Roneeka Hodges each scored 22 points while Jennifer Lacy added 15 points for the Shock, who shot 40.8 percent from the field and forced the Sky to commit 21 turnovers.
But the Shock had to survive an up-and-down battle to the end, needing an extra period to book only their fourth win of the season.
With her team leading by a single point (79-78), Williams knocked down a tough step-back jumper to give them a three-point cushion (81-78) with 46.4 seconds left on the clock.
The Shock then made three solid defensive stops, foiling three-point attempts from Epiphanny Prince and Eshaya Murphy as time expired.
Courtney Vandersloot scored 23 points and Murphy racked up 17 points and 10 boards to offset a poor game from star player Sylvia Fowles, who managed only 7 points over 20 minutes of action.
