San Diego, CA, United States (4E Sports) – Strikeforce bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has taken pre-fight hype to violent levels, vowing to choke challenger Sarah Kaufman “until she’s actually dead” or try “to rip her arm off and throw it at her corner”.

“I’m going to try to pound her face into the ground and she’s depending on the competence of the California (State) Athletic Commission to walk out of that cage alive,” said Rousey, who will defend her title tonight at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego.

Rousey, a former Olympic bronze medalist in judoka, made headlines recently after she threatened to beat reality TV star Kim Kardashian and called swimmer Michael Phelps a snob in the span of two weeks.

Rousey is undefeated in her first five fights while Kaufman, a former champion, has a 15-1 record. The winner of the fight gets to face suspended featherweight star Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos.

Both fighters made weight with Rousey coming in at the 135-pound limit and Kaufman checking in one pound under.

“We’re definitely going to be best fight on the card,” Rousey said. “This is the second time women headlined Strikeforce this year and we’re both going to bring it. I’m excited.”

Kaufman said her experience and superior striking will make a difference in her fight against Rousey.

“She’s ready to come out and fight, but her striking’s not up to my par,” she said. “This is a great fight for the fans, I’m looking forward to bringing the belt back to Canada,” Kaufman said.
