PHILIPSBURG – A 17-year-old Philipsburg boy, Matthew N. Litz, has been charged with one count of escape, a felony of the third degree, after failing to report back to a court-ordered program July 24, the Philipsburg-based state police reported today.

Litz was on a “home pass” from the Community Life Skills program, which is based in Williamsport. He’s been ordered by the Centre County Court of Common Pleas to be placed in the program.

The “home pass” permitted Litz to be at an East Presqueisle Street residence from July 20 – July 24.  He was instructed to return to the program July 24 and failed to do so.

Litz has been observed in Philipsburg Borough since July 24. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the Philipsburg-based state police at 814-342-3370.

Anyone caught providing aid or harboring Litz will be prosecuted for hindering apprehension.
