James Richard Quinn, 79, ofClearfielddied Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012 at theClearfieldHospital.
He was born Sept. 14, 1932, the son of James D. and Wanda (Brown) Quinn.
Mr. Quinn was a veteran in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War and spent 22 years in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He received three Army Commendations Medals for Meritorious Services.
He was of Methodist faith.
Mr. Quinn was a former member of the American Legion and the VFW and Operating Engineers Local 66.
He is survived by a daughter, Diana Quinn ofClearfieldand a son, Daniel Quinn of
New York; three grandchildren, Carla Shomo-Manspeaker, Jessica Jeffries and Tyler Quinn; two sisters, Dorothy Wisor, and Betty Hanes, both of Clearfield and his former wife, Elizabeth Quinn of Clearfield.
Mr. Quinn was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Edward, John, Pat and Bud Quinn, two sons, James and Timothy “Buckwheat” Quinn and an infant great-grandson, Jameson Timothy Quinn.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield, with the Rev. Penney Rahm officiating.
Burial will be inCrownCrestMemorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Military Honors will be accorded at 6:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home by the Clearfield American Legion Post #6 and the VFW post #1785 Honor Guard.
