Minneapolis, MN, United States (4E Sports) – Justin Morneau belted a two-run homer in the fourth inning to spark the Minnesota Twins (43-58) to a 5-1 victory over the Cleveland Indians (50-52) Sunday at Target Field.
The Twins completed a three-game sweep over the Tribe Sunday behind Morneau and Ben Revere.
After trailing 1-0 on Shelley Duncan’s RBI single, Morneau made his presence felt as he delivered the hit that changed the game.
Revere scored on a wild pitch from Tribe starter Ubaldo Jimenez in the fifth inning and then followed it up with a two-run single in the seventh inning to secure the win for the Twins.
Brian Duensing outdueled Jimenez in their pitching showdown, allowing five hits and one earned run with two strikeouts over six innings.
The Tribe starter surrendered six hits and five earned runs with six strikeouts over 6.1 innings.
