Minneapolis, MN, United States (4E Sports) – Candace Parker scored 28 points and added 13 rebounds and Kristi Tolliver exploded for 29 points to lead the Los Angeles Sparks to a 96-90 win over the Minnesota Lynx Thursday at Staples Center.
The Sparks (13-3) snapped their three-game losing streak despite a 33-point outburst from Minnesota (11-6) in the fourth quarter.
The Lynx managed to cut the deficit to, 94-90, with 2.3 seconds left but still suffered their first back-to-back loss of the season.
Lynx shooting guard Seimone Augustus scored 18 points while Maya Moore added 14 before fouling out.
In other action, the San Antonio Silver Stars won their fifth straight, beating the Indiana Fever, 88-72, Thursday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Becky Hammon tallied 19 points and Jia Perkins added 17 points off the bench for the Stars (9-5), who have won seven of their last eight games.
Tamika Catchings recorded 17 points and 15 boards and Katie Douglas had 19 points for the Fever (8-6).
