Obituary Notice: Fred Spadaro

Fred Spadaro, age 80, of West Long Avenue in DuBois, died Monday, June 4, 2012 at his residence.

Born on Nov. 28, 1931, he was the son of the late Dominick & Mary (Scozavia) Spadaro.

He was a 1951 graduate of DuBois High School.

He was a Private First Class in the United States Army during the Korean War.

On May 22, 1976, he married Gertrude E. Reilly.  She preceded him in death in 2007.

He retired from Montgomery Ward Co. after many years of service.  Previous to that, he worked at the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad.  He was a member of the Allegheny Mountain Bowling Association Hall of Fame.  He was an avid bowler and one of the first people in DuBois to bowl a perfect game.  He was a member of the Olympic Athletic Club.

He is survived by his sister, Rose M. Patt of DuBois, PA.  He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and was cared for locally by a niece, Mary Lou Trzyna of DuBois.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene “Bruno” Spadaro and Roland L. “Louie” Spadaro.

There will be no public visitation.

A memorial service will be held on June 9 at 10 a.m. from the Goble Baronick Funeral Home with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating.

Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
