Karthaus Woman Accused of Breaking Windshield to Assault Karthaus Man

KARTHAUS – A Karthaus woman is facing simple assault charges after reportedly breaking a windshield to assault a Karthaus man.
According to state police in Clearfield, Teresa J. Smeal and a 33-year-old man got into an argument that later turned physical when she reportedly started to assault the man. Police said he locked himself in a vehicle to escape from Smeal. Police said she smashed the windshield of the vehicle until she was able to continue her assault.
Smeal was arrested and charged with simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment. She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Patrick N. Ford and bail was set at $10,000 unsecured.
