Baltimore, MD, United States (AHN Sports) – I’ll Have Another lived up to his name Saturday, winning the second leg of the Triple Crown at the Preakness. The horse chased and caught slightly favored Bodemeister.
I’ll Have Another will try to secure the Triple Crown in three weeks at the Belmont Stakes.
It was deja vu’ all over for Bob Baffert as his horse, Bodemeister, led most of the way only to be caught by a tenacious effort from I’ll Have Another. Bodemeister also finished second to the same horse at the Kentucky Derby.
“It was a really good race and the winner is a really good horse who will now get the respect he deserves,” a disappointed Baffert told NBC.
I’ll Have Another Paid $8.40 for the win, Bodemeister collected $3.20 for place and Creative Cause cashed in at $3.60 to show.
It marked the 137th running of the famed race.
