Repeating as champs will be ‘Giant’ challenge
New York, NY, United States (AHN Sports) – The New York Giants will face a tough task in defending their Super Bowl title but that isn’t stopping them from wanting more.
The Giants received their Super Bowl rings Wednesday at Tiffany & Co., and they let it be known they are gunning for another.
“Our thing now is we want to be a dynasty,” defensive end Justin Tuck said. “We want to make it a dynasty.”
Tuck and quarterback Eli Manning were among the Giants who were attending their second championship ring ceremony at Tiffany in four years. As he was picking up ring number two, Tuck told owner John Mara and Manning he isn’t done.
“Justin said to Mr. Mara that no Giants player has three championships with the Giants,” Manning said.
To pick up another Ring, Tuck and the Giants will have to run a gauntlet of a schedule.
The Giants have the league’s toughest schedule and their final 11 games coming against either divisional rivals or 2011 playoff teams.
New York plays all three of their NFC playoff opponents (Falcons, Packers and 49ers) from this past season and Philadelphia as well as the rest of the usually tough NFC East looks to be improved.
