BELLEFONTE – Court documents obtained by 6News Tuesday afternoon show that former wide receiver coach Mike McQueary intends to file a civil lawsuit against Penn State University, nearly seven months after he was placed on administrative leave in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal.
The notice, filed inside the Centre County courthouse in Bellefonte, indicates that McQueary intends to sue for monetary damages outside arbitration limits for an employment dispute.
At a preliminary hearing for perjury charges against Tim Curley and Gary Schultz earlier this year, McQueary testified that he saw Sandusky involved in a sexual act with an unidentified boy in the Lasch Football Building showers in 2002, and reported it to Curley, Schultz and late head football coach Joe Paterno in a meeting several days later.
