John M. Duffalo Sr., 80 of DuBois died Friday at Christ the King Manor. Born Nov. 12, 1931 in Helvetia, he was the son of the late Michael J. and Anna ( Stefura) Duffalo.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He retired from RESCAR as a foreman after many years of service. Prior to that, he worked at the B&O Railroad.
He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.
On April 6, 1956, he married Shirley L. Fanus. She survives.
He’s survived by his children, John M. Duffalo Jr. of Sabula; Mary A. Viglione and her husband, Kris of Ridgway; Teresa C. Murray and her husband, George, Stephanie J. Whitmore and Stephen M. Duffalo, all of DuBois; and Denise M. McCloskey and her husband, Robert of Luthersburg; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, a brother, James Duffalo of Texas, and two sisters, Ann Gutoski and Marge Carlson, both of DuBois.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, David Duffalo and Mark Duffalo.
There will be no public visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Fr. David Foradori as celebrant. Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
