England, United Kingdom (AHN Sports) – Vincent Kompany scored in the 45th minute and Manchester City’s strong play made the goal stand up in an impressive and exciting 1-0 win over Manchester United Monday at Etihad Stadium.

If Man City can beat Newcastle and QPR in its final two matches it will secure the PL title, its first since 1968.

Manchester United had decent scoring chances early on, but Man City controlled play late and nearly added to its scoring bulge a few times.

Superstar Wayne Rooney appeared lost at times for Man U, never really getting into an offensive flow. Man City could take some of the credit for that, however, with solid defensive play.

Man City controlled play, getting 15 shots including 5 on goal, while Man U had just 5 and 0. Corner kicks were even at 8-8, though Man City possessed the ball 53 percent of the time.
