SANDY TOWNSHIP – A barn at Fairman Farms went up in flames early Sunday morning, according to GantDaily.com news partner WJAC-TV.
Sandy Township fire chief Steve Dunlap told WJAC-TV News that a 9-year-old neighbor noticed the fire just after 2:30 a.m.
Dunlap said when firefighters arrived on scene the fire was already fully involved. The Fairman Farm is located along Juniata Street Extension in Dubois.
Dunlap said the barn that was destroyed had at least five tractors inside of it. He said that the barn was primarily used for equipment storage.
Officials said that their main priority was containing the fire to just one barn. Â Dunlap said that the larger barn behind it was where the animals were kept.
One of the owners of Fairman Farms told WJAC-TV News that the animals were not in the barn at the time of the fire.
There were no injuries.
Dunlap estimates that the damage is between $300,000 and $500,000.
A Pennsylvania State Police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
