Pittsburgh, PA, United States (AHN Sports) – Tyler Colvin’s sacrifice fly in the eighth inning scored Eric Young Jr., lifting the Colorado Rockies to a 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates Wednesday afternoon.

The Pirates pounded out nine hits, but scored just one run off Pedro Alvarez’ solo shot in the seventh that knotted the score at 1-1.

Nine batters had one hit each for the Bucs, which has to be a baseball rarity.

James McDonald was terrific on the hill for the Pirates, allowing just one hit and three walks over seven frames. He fanned eight batters.

Jason Giambi also had a sac fly RBI for the Rockies.

Matt Reynolds recorded just one out but picked up the win to improve to 2-0. Juan Nicasio started and allowed just the one run on nine hits.
