Newport News, VA, United States (AHN Sports) – Nine-year Virginia Tech men’s basketball coach Seth Greenberg won’t make it a decade in the position after he was dismissed by the program Monday.

The Hokies were 15-16 this past season, including 4-12 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Greenberg also lost six assistant coaches in the last four years.

“We need to go in another direction,” said Athletic director Jim Weaver at a Monday afternoon press conference announcing the move.

The Daily Press of Newport News, VA. was first to announce Greenberg’s dismissal earlier in the day, despite the coach having four more years remaining on his contract.
