Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN Sports) – The Los Angeles Clippers promised to protect Blake Griffin from absorbing hard fouls again after seeing their star forward take a beating from opposing teams this season, multiple sources reported Sunday.

Clippers center DeAndre Jordan, Griffin’s closest friend in the team, now says he won’t think twice retaliating at anyone who would make hard fouls on Griffin during a game.

“I feel like people are intentionally trying to hurt him,” Jordan told ESPN Sunday. “It’ll all come back around.”

Known for his high-flying theatrics, Griffin has been shoved and hacked over the past months without seeing his teammates defend or protect him from receiving such abuse.

Several basketball followers, including TNT analyst and basketball legend Charles Barkley, have criticized Griffin and the Clippers for being so passive in this situation.

Nevertheless, Clipper coach Vinny Del Negro toned down the criticisms and insisted the strict rules being imposed by NBA have prevented players from reacting so much on hard fouls.

What do all these people think you should do? Do they know the rules?” Del Negro told ESPN Sunday. “Do they know there’s a point system? Do they know back when a lot of those guys played and you took guys out it was a $1,000 and now its game suspensions and points? You have to understand the rules and you have to understand there are times to do certain things.”

Stay tuned.
