New Orleans, LA, United States (AHN Sports) – According to reports, New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson will own a second pro sports franchise when he purchases the NBA’s New Orleans Hornets.

The league still has to approve the sale, with reports indicating Benson will shell out $338 million for the team.

The league bought the Hornets from George Shinn for $318 million in 2010.

It has been operating the team since then, approving the move to deal away superstar guard Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Clippers.

The move takes some publicity off the Saints, who were recently embroiled in a bounty for an injuring opponents “program” and for not re-signing star quarterback Drew Brees as of yet.

I wonder if there is a “bounty” system in the NBA or if this will be a first?:)
