Manchester City blanks Fulham to retain Premier League lead

Manchester, England, United Kingdom (AHN Sports) – Manchester City remained perfect at home in English Premier League play with a 3-0 victory Saturday over Fulham.

City moved three points ahead of Manchester United, which plays at fourth-place Chelsea on Sunday.

City got goals from forward Sergio Aguero on a penalty and Edin Dzeko. Fulham defender Chris Baird scored an own goal to cap the scoring.

In other games Arsenal routed Blackburn 7-1, sparked by Robin van Persie’s hat trick that upped his season goal total to 22.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain added two goals for Arsenal, scoring in the 40th and 54th minutes.

Sunderland continues to play well under new manager Martin O’Neill as it posted a 1-0 victory at Stoke.

Wolverhampton Wanderers knocked off Queens Park Rangers, 2-1, Norwich blanked Bolton, 2-0, Swansea rallied to beat West Bromwich Albion 2-1 and Wigan held Everton to a 1-1 draw.
