I, like many of my fellow citizens were surprised to hear of the announced retirement of our long-time state Representative Camille “Bud” George. In my involvement in local politics I always thought I would one day get the chance to re-elect to one of the greatest men in Pennsylvania politics, but I missed him just a by a year.
Over the last 38 years, Rep. George, no matter if you were Democrat or Republican, worked to serve his constituents the best he could and as efficiently as he could. I respect his service and dedication to Clearfield County. As a young man seeking to serve the people someday, I’m proud that will be able to look at his legacy and one day serve ALL people, no matter their party.
What people are saying is true. No one ever could EVER replace Bud in the State House. But, as the late Sen. Ted Kennedy once said, “the cause endures, the hope lives on, and the dream shall never die.” Our dreams as citizens will never die thanks to Bud. He has shown this small town guy that you CAN indeed make a difference with hard work and a strong conviction in what you are doing. Thanks Bud. And God Bless.
