NORWICH TOWNSHIP – A 39-year-old Mount Jewett man faces dangerous burning charges after allegedly setting two mobile homes on fire at 11:23 a.m. Jan. 21 in Norwich Township, the Ridgway-based state police reported.

According to the report, the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal investigated the cause of a fire. The man was hired by the landowner to demolish and remove the mobile homes from the property, state police said.

The man allegedly ignited the structures on fire, as a form of demolition. At some point, a passing motorist who was traveling on state Route 46 reported the fire to the McKean County 911. The Norwich Township, Smethport and Port Allegheny fire departments responded to the scene.

No injuries were reported, state police said.
