RUSH TOWNSHIP – One person suffered a minor injury in a three-vehicle accident at 3:45 p.m. Friday along the Port Matilda Highway in Rush Township, Centre County, the Philipsburg-based state police reported.

According to the accident report, a 21-year-old Philipsburg woman was traveling westbound, while vehicles driven by Chester M. Fletcher Jr., 36, of Clearfield and Nicholas J. Wisor, 24, of West Decatur were also traveling westbound ahead of the woman’s vehicle.

Both the Fletcher and Wisor vehicles slowed because of another vehicle that was attempting a left-hand turn from the westbound lane ahead of the Wisor vehicle. The woman failed to stop her vehicle, and it struck the Fletcher vehicle in the rear.

At that point, the Fletcher vehicle traveled forward and struck the rear of the Wisor vehicle. The Wisor vehicle then traveled off the northern side of the highway, where it came to a rest, facing northwest.

The Fletcher vehicle came to a controlled final rest off the southern side of the roadway. The woman’s vehicle came to a final rest in the westbound lane and sustained major frontend damage. The Fletcher vehicle sustained major damage to the front and rear, while the Wisor vehicle had moderate damage to its rear.

The woman was cited for driving too fast for conditions. She wasn’t wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident and sustained minor injury. Both Fletcher and Wisor were wearing their seatbelts and were not injured.
