CLEARFIELD – On Sept. 2, Tracy McCracken of West Decatur was drawn as the winner from 17 correctly completed entry forms turned in from the CNB Bank’s summer-long community scavenger hunt. As the winner, she was awarded a $1,000 Series EE savings bond.
CNB initiated this project, which is in its third year, to bring together the schools, local businesses and the community. This year, resin planters were designed and painted by Clearfield Area High School students in Leann Schaeffer’s art class with the theme of Pennsylvania’s Natural Beauty and were then placed at 24 local businesses.
The hunt began June 3 and participants identified the businesses based on clues provided to them upon registration at the bank. Once all 24 resin planters were found and identified, they were to bring their completed form to CNB for the drawing.
In addition to the winner, participants successful in identifying all 24 businesses this summer were Lori Conaway, Margaret Conaway, Sherry Daub, Bette Dixon, Dulce Fletcher, Doris Folmer, Debbie Garito, Philip Heichel, Josephine Hoover, Jan Howard, Cindy Hryn, Jennifer Ireland, Pam Lukowski, Ann McCracken, Sharon Whipple, Kristine Williams. CNB asks that these participants stop in to the main office downtown to receive an item of appreciation for their participation in the community event.
Participating businesses included Agway, C Classic Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Catch A Wave, Clearfield Florist, Curves, Cuts Fitness, Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub, Dotts Motor Company, Historica Plus Antiques, Ink and Threadz, Moyer’s Auto Body, Sherwood’s Creamery, Silver Screen Video, Suzie’s Fashions, Sweet Art Bakery, Taffy Salon & Spa, Tammy’s Garden, The Angry Bean, The Cottage, The Herb Place, and The Salvation Army Store and each of three CNB Bank offices located in Clearfield. CNB Bank thanks participating businesses for their generosity in the use of their business establishments for this community event.
“This annual event is a great way to highlight the local businesses in our community and to promote the products and services we have to offer locally. At the same time, we enjoy getting the public involved in a family-friendly community event,” said Bower. “We received some real positive feedback from merchants and the participants.”
