WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Park Service and the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks, announced today that President Bill Clinton will deliver remarks at the Sept. 10 dedication ceremony of the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.  President Clinton will join Vice President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. and President George W. Bush who will also be giving remarks at the event.  The Flight 93 National Memorial will stand as the only unit of the National Park Service dedicated to the events of 9/11, honoring the 40 brave heroes of United Flight 93. Â
It is also announced today that Speaker of the House John Boehner will attend the ceremony, joining Flight 93 family members and friends, as well as a growing list of special guests and dignitaries including Dr. Jill Biden, former First Lady Laura Bush, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar, National Park Service Director Jon Jarvis, and Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett among others. Grammy-award winning singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan will perform at the ceremony. Â
Through a partnership between National Park Foundation and HISTORY, the dedication will be broadcast LIVE beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET/ 9:30 a.m. PT on www.Flight93Dedication.org and at history.com/flight93. Â
In addition to the dedication ceremony, the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks will be observed at the Flight 93 National Memorial on the morning of September 11, 2011, beginning at approximately 9:30 a.m. The memorial service will take place at the newly-opened memorial plaza surrounding the site where Flight 93 crashed at 10:03 a.m. on September 11, 2001. Â President Obama is expected to visit the Flight 93 National Memorial later that day.
