Fugitive Apprehended in Sandy Township

SANDY TOWNSHIP – A fugitive from justice was apprehended at 6:25 a.m. Tuesday along state Route 255 in Sandy Township, Clearfield County. The DuBois-based state police identified the accused as Christopher Barbulescu, 25, of Sparta, New Jersey.

According to the report, state police initiated a traffic stop on Barbulescu after a violation. During their investigation, it was determined he had an active warrant in Missouri.

The accused was charged before Magisterial District Judge Patrick Ford. His bail was set at $100,000, and his custody was relinquished to personnel at the Clearfield County Jail, where he awaits extradition to Missouri.
