At 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, state police responded to a complaint about a 21-year-old Philipsburg man who was attempting to break into parked vehicles at the Philipsburg Towers. At arrival the accused was allegedly observed attempting to enter a vehicle on Front Street. He was taken into custody and transported to the Centre County Prison. Charges were filed at the district magistrate’s office.
An investigation is continuing into an incident of burglary that occurred sometime between 3:02 p.m. and 6 p.m. May 17 at a Twin Oaks Street garage. Known Philipsburg juveniles entered a 61-year-old Philipsburg man’s garage by crawling under the door. The juveniles allegedly dumped used motor oil on seed potatoes, damaged items within and removed tools. The juveniles then left the garage and allegedly spray painted graffiti on its exterior walls.
