CLEARFIELD – The cause of a Friday morning barn fire remains under investigation, the Clearfield-based state police reported. The barn was located at 2879 Martin Street Extension in Lawrence Township, Clearfield County.
According to the report, the state police fire marshal at the Ridgway barracks and the Lawrence Township Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of the fire, destroying a wooden frame barn at 8:36 a.m. No injuries were reported.
However, 27 South African boar goats perished in the fire, police said. Damage is estimated at $50,000. The barn was owned by Clifford Simcox of Clearfield.
