The Curwensville Area High School is presenting “AIDA.” “AIDA” is a musical based on the opera by the same name, but this is no opera. The music and lyrics of this musical were created by the legendary Elton John and Tim Rice.

It premiered on Broadway in 2000 and won several Tony Awards including one for best musical score. With a pop-rock score that features stirring ballads and rousing choral numbers, “AIDA” is a modern crowd pleaser.

It will be presented on March 31, April 1, and April 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Leslie D. Leach Auditorium.

For the best seats call the high school office during regular school hours at 236-1100.

The musical is directed by Judith Bungo with instrumental direction by Cindy Penvose.
