Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – Michael Bay thinks “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” was “crap.” The director and producer of the 2009 sequel of the blockbuster flick “Transformers” admits to agreeing with critics and fans that the film was simply awful.

Speaking with Empire magazine, Bay says he understands why the public is less than amorous about the second film than the first.

He said, “We made some mistakes. The real fault with ["Transformers 2"] is that it ran into a mystical world. When I look back at it, that was crap. The writers’ strike was coming hard and fast. It was just terrible to do a movie where you’ve got to have a story in three weeks.”

But it wasn’t only about the writing. He also confessed to doing a not-so-good job, but still blamed it on the constraint in time left by the writers’ strike.

He added, “I was prepping for a movie for months where I only had 14 pages of some idea of what the movie was. It’s a BS way to make a movie, do you know what I’m saying?”

“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” might have been critically panned, it even won three Razzie Awards (Worst Picture, Worst Director, and Worst Screenplay), but its numbers were still high at the box office. It scored over $830 million dollars worldwide.

Hopefully, the same mistakes have been avoided when they made the second sequel. “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” is slated for release on July 1 this year.
