CLEARFIELD – According to Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., fugitive Jarred Peters is in custody.
Shaw stated in a press release that Peters turned himself over to sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday.
Shaw stated that Peters was wanted for failure to appear at criminal call on January 27, 2011.
An affidavit of probable Cause filed by Brooks states that on May 21, 2010, the Lawrence Township Police received a report of an ongoing theft from a Lawrence Township business. Upon further investigation, it was found that Peters and five other individuals were involved in presenting fraudulent weigh slips and collecting payments from the business. Peters and the five other individuals improperly collected a total of approximately $8,677.45 in payments from the business.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 21, 2010, at which time all charges were held for court. On Jan. 27, 2011, Peters failed to appear for criminal call and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
