Blood Drive Slated at Treasure Lake Church

TREASURE LAKE – The Treasure Lake Church will sponsor a blood drive from 1 – 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6. All donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment at redcrosslife.org.

Every two seconds, someone needs a blood transfusion. A sufficient blood supply must be readily available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year.

Infectious disease testing and other necessary safety procedures require about 48 hours to complete after individuals give blood. As a result, it’s too late to donate once someone you know needs blood.

To give blood, you must be at least 17 years old (Some states, including Pennsylvania, permit 16-year-olds to donate blood with parental permission), weigh at least 110 pounds and be in generally good health.  Usually, donors can give blood every 56 days.

Please contact the DuBois Chapter at 371-2750 for more information.
