Suspicious Package Causes Evacuation At Miami International Airport

Miami, FL, United States (AHN) – People were evacuated and some flights diverted late Thursday after a suspicious package was found at Miami International Airport.

Nearly all concourses were closed and roads to the airport were blocked off as the bomb squad was called in to ensure the area’s safety. The airport opened before dawn Friday.

The passenger with the suspicious package, reported to be a 70-year-old scientist traveling from Brazil, is in custody.

No other information was released and the Transportation Security Agency is investigating
