Krstic Banned Three Games For Chair-Throwing Incident
Athens, Greece (AHN) – Oklahoma City Thunder center Nenad Krstic will miss the first three games of Serbia’s run of the 2010 FIBA World Championship after throwing a chair that hit an opponent’s head during an on-court brawl last week, it was announced Thursday.
The object was reportedly intended for Greece’s Sofoklis Schortsanitis and Antonis Fotsis, but smashed Bourousis in the head, drawing blood during warmups.
Schortsanitis and Fotsis will each miss two games for their participation in the fight.
Serbian guard Milos Teodosic, who also sparked the fight, collected a two-game suspension.
Krstic will not miss more than half of the tourney games, where Serbia is likely to earn a berth and move to the knockout stage.
Serbia will take on Angola, Germany and Jordan in the first three games in Group A play behind Vlade Divac and Peja Stojakovic.
Greece will face China and Puerto Rico in Group C play.
