Washington, D.C., United States (AHN) – Add another episode to the ongoing fray over copyright infringement.
TorrentFreak reported Friday that a lawyer group known for suing thousands of people for copyright infractions might have violated someone else’s copyright themselves.
U.S. Copyright Group (USCG) made news by suing tens of thousands of people for allegedly file-sharing motion pictures that belong to their clients.
USCG appears to have copied the HTML source code and trade dress for the website they set up to handle the copyright lawsuit from a competitor called Copyright Enforcement Group, according to TorrentFreak.
USCG is the Washington, D.C. law firm Dunlap, Grubb & Weaver, according to TechDirt.
AHN Media Corp. called Dunlap, Grubb & Weaver on Friday afternoon. The receptionist said that partner Thomas M. Dunlap was handling media inquiries, but that he was in meetings all afternoon.
AHN was put through to voice mail in case Thomas had a break during the afternoon. But by publication deadline Thomas was still unavailable for comment.
