Philadelphia, PA, United States (AHN) – The Philadelphia Phillies acquired Roy Oswalt, as the Houston Astros pitcher waived his no-trade clause, a league source disclosed Thursday.

The Phillies will ship rookie hurler J.A. Happ and two prospects to the Astros for the three-time all-star.

Oswalt, who signed a five-year, $73 million extension with the Astros in 2006, will receive $16 million next year and another $16 million salary or $2 million buyout money in 2012.

The Phillies, who already shelled out $142 million in salary, will reportedly take on another $5 million with the acquisition of the pitcher.

In spite of a 6-12 record, the 32-year old Oswalt remains a high-reward pitcher with a 3.42 ERA, 120 strikeouts and 34 walks over 129 innings this year.
