Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – An “American Idol” reject wants to bring down the show. Ian Benardo claims that after the producers told him to “gay it up” on the season finale, he was told to scram after he apparently pissed off comedian Dane Cook.
According to the documents he filed, and obtained by TMZ, Benardo first auditioned for the show in 2006. The hit talent show producers allegedly “exploited” his sexual orientation by instructing him to “gay it up.”
When he was invited back for the 2010 finale, the producers gave him similar instructions and told him to be “outrageous and gay.” That was when he stole the mic from the comedian during a skit in the show.
But when Dane and his manager failed to be amused by his tricks, the producers warned him that he was “not safe” and he had to leave the building immediately.
Benardo is seeking a whopping $300 million for the emotional injuries he suffered and the loss of employment opportunities.
In an interview with TMZ, Benardo vows to “bring American Idol down.”
