Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – VH1 is getting ready to introduce their latest weight loss show, but this time the stakes are higher. 10 teams of contestants are laying their own money on their line for one of them to take home the pool of $100,000.

The teams of two will put forward $10,000 of their own money to participate in the show, with the team who loses the most combined weight taking it all at the end. The show follows the format of shows like “Biggest Loser” with their access to personal trainers and grueling challenges.

But “Money Hungry” promises a comedic look at weight loss competitions, having hand-picked the contestants for their, as the network describes, their “larger-than-life” personalities.

Among the teams are South Florida comedians Yamil Piedra and Johnny Trabanco, better known as A Pair of Nuts, who have performed all over the country and appeared on shows like “Last Comic Standing.”

“Money Hungry” will air Mondays at 9pm beginning August 2nd on VH1.
