South Carolina Faces Elimination At 2010 College World Series

Omaha, NE, United States (AHN) – After losing 4-3 in the first game against the Oklahoma Sooners Sunday, the South Carolina Gamecocks look to stay alive against the top-seed Arizona Sun Devils at 4:30 p.m. ET Tuesday in the double-elimination 2010 NCAA College World Series.
The winner will face the loser of the Oklahoma-Clemson game, which takes place at 9 p.m.
Clemson (44-23) defeated the Sun Devils (52-9) Monday 6-3 to advance and face Oklahoma (50-16).
South Carolina (48-16) is expected to start junior right-hander Sam Dyson (5-5, 4.35 ERA) against Arizona State’s junior right-hander Merrill Kelly (10-2, 3.57 ERA).
Arizona State has faced the Gamecocks six times in the CWS, posting a 4-2 record. The teams haven’t faced each other since 1981, when the Sun Devils eliminated the Gamecocks 10-7.
In bracket one, TCU (52-13) faces Florida State (48-19) Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET for the right to play UCLA (50-14) in the final.
The overall winner of each bracket plays a three-game final series starting June 28.
