New York City, NY, United States (AHN) – One Oscar winner will be brightening up BBC America’s Friday evening programming.

Russell Crowe will be appearing on the May 7 episode of “Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.”

During the show, which airs at 10 p.m. ET/PT, Ross chats with Crowe about his personal life and his career alike, focusing on the “Gladiator” star’s upcoming role as the title character in “Robin Hood.” Crowe will discuss how the oft-filmed story gets an update courtesy of his acting and the direction of Ridley Scott, whom he referred to as “one of the greatest visual artists of our time.”

“Robin Hood” is the fifth collaboration by Crowe and Scott, who have also made “American Gangster,” “Body of Lies” and “A Good Year” together. During the interview, the actor also mentioned the difficulty of training for his latest movie because of injuries sustained from “Gladiator.”

“It’s a big ask to get into that level of training again,” Crowe said.

Ross and Crowe also discussed the star’s music, his family life and his induction to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Ross’s other guests on the episode include comedian Reginald D. Hunter, rapper Dizzee Rascal and supermodel David Gandy, who discussed his early days in the modeling business.

“I was laughed off for the first couple of years, I was told I was too good-looking,” he said. “The look was all androgynous, skinny, and the models at the time resembled women more than guys.”

BBC America viewers will also be able to keep their ear to the celebrity world Saturday night with the May 8 episode of “The Graham Norton Show,” airing at 10 p.m.

Norton welcomes singer, actress and new mother Jennifer Lopez, who talks about her experiences in raising twins while at the same time starring in the recent pregnancy-centered romantic comedy “The Back-up Plan.” Also on the episode is “Doctor Who” co-star Karen Gillan, who dishes the dirt on the newest incarnation of the Doctor and her perception of American audiences and their reaction to the show.
