Key Biscayne, FL, United States (AHN) – American Mardy Fish posted a stunning upset win Saturday, as he defeated third-seeded Andy Murray 6-4 6-4 in the second round of the 2010 Miami Masters.
Fish, 101st in the ATP world rankings, launched powerful serves and nifty cross court shots to completely confuse Murray, the 2009 Miami Masters champion.
Murray built a 3-1 advantage in the first set, but faltered along the way with numerous miscues.
Fish continued to apply pressure on the bewildered Murray, as the American capped a surprising victory over the Australian Open runner-up.
Murray has once again failed to advance to the semifinals round for the second consecutive tournament.
Last week, Murray also suffered a 6-1, 7-6 quarterfinals lost to Swede Robin Soderling at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.
With these setbacks, the Briton is endangered of sliding from the no.3 spot, if world no.4 Rafael Nadal lands a better finish in this Masters 1000 tournament.<br />
