Siegel Breaks American Records at USAPL PA State Championships

Al Siegel of Clearfield lifted at the USA Powerlifting State Championships at Penn State University this past weekend and exceeded all of the decade old records in the 242 pound 70 to 74 year old age group.

Siegel broke the American and PA state records in the squat with a 203 pound effort, the bench press with a 148, the deadlift with his 281 poound lift, and the total with 633 pounds.
USA Powerlifting is the largest powerlifting organization in the United States  and they are one of many who drug test their members.
 
An upcoming local event, Power Day, will take place at the Bigler YMCA on April 24. 
Power Day is the oldest, longest running Bench Press and Deadlift competition in the world, having been run continuously, in Clearfield, since 1980.
