Paris, France (AHN) – The fast-rising African designer Fati Asibelua debuted Momo’s groundbreaking new A/W 2010/11 Fall Collection at the Paris Fashion Week earlier this month and the new collection was hailed by all in attendance. Press, buyers and fashionistas alike were impressed with the collection consisting of sophisticated dresses with bold prints.

For Momo’s newest collection, Asibelua mixes African patterns with modern, contemporary shapes, while mixing the eclectic blend of traditional couture brocades and jacquards in black and navy, highlighted by metallic threading and a splash of pink. The shapes are bold in graphic drapes with sharp silhouettes, while the finishings are described as sheer organza linings and silk georgette bindings.

“I have always had a passion for opulent fabrics. For this collection, I have given a modern interpretation of a traditional African print with a very luxe result,” said Asibelua.

Vogue UK has named Fati Asibelua as “one of Africa’s most talked about design talents.”

Momo is quickly gaining pace in the fashion industry, with models such as Liya Kebede, Chanel Iman and Jourdon Dunn donning the brand’s looks. To view the collection, head to www.momostyles.com.
