Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – Divorced Illinois insurance executive Michael Barrett, 48, was handed a 30-month prison term Monday for stalking, video taping through a peep hole, then releasing nude videos of ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews.
Barrett admitted to stalking the broadcasting beauty through three states and taping her through a tiny hotel key hole.
Andrews, 31, expressed displeasure about the sentencing, which was at the high end of federal guidelines but less than the five-year maximum.
Addressed Barrett in open court Andrews spoke of the public humiliation she endured because of Barrett’s actions and discredited his claim that he is paying for his guilty plea through public humiliation.
Andrews went on to tell the judge she now fears for her life and suffers paranoia every time she checks into a hotel room.
Barrett responded with an apology and expressed his own shame.
He will serve three years of supervised release after his jail term and pay Andrews $7,366 in restitution.
Andrews, who was voted “America’s Sexiest Sportscaster” by Playboy magazine the past two years, is set to appear on the newest season of “Dancing With The Stars.”
