Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – Between Mariah Carey’s “Angels Advocate” tour and Nick Cannon’s own radio and television work, the couple’s had to spend some time apart. But they did hook up to write a song together for Cannon’s new girl group.

School Gyrls just premiered their very first movie for Nickelodeon, written and directed by Cannon himself. In the high school-set musical comedy, the gyrls perform some of their original material. Also due on the album is a track co-written by Carey and Cannon. It also features the “Obsessed” singer on background vocals.

The single, “Get Like Me,” is an uptempo, urban pop track. While it could be for the clubs, its more likely for the School Gyrls’ target tween set. The movie even featured a cameo from Justin Bieber.

“Get Like Me” was released on the iTunes store Tuesday and joins two other Gyrls tracks currently available for download: “Something Like a Party” and “I’m Not Just a Girl.”

“Get Like Me” is also slated to appear on the Gyrl’s upcoming new album, set for release later this year. The album is expected to have even more Carey and Cannon co-writes.
