West Palm Beach, FL, United States (AHN) – NASA scientists have discovered a 3-inch swimming shrimp-like creature 600 feet beneath the Antarctic ice that they said could contest theories on how creatures survive under certain living conditions.
According to reports, the scientists discovered the creature when they deployed a camera in the water to get first-ever photographs of the bottom of an ice shelf.
The agency said the discovery could rattle the thinking about what kind of living organisms can survive in certain atmospheres, reports stated.
The Lyssianasid amphipod could be the beginning of bigger expeditions into more severe atmospheres scientists once believed could not sustain life; expeditions on both Earth and the moon, according to reports.
