Portland, Oregon, United States (AHN) – Deputies in Skamania County,, Ore. say the body of a 24-year-old missing hiker has been found.

Undersheriff Dave Cox told reporters that a father and son found Katherine Huether at the base of an 800-foot cliff on Saturday. Deputies said her body was found wedged behind rocks.

Huether has been missing since setting out to hike the Pacific Crest Trail near the Bonneville Dam on March 4, local television station KPTV reported.

Authorities believe Huether’s death was accidental. Deputies say she likely fell from the cliff.

At the time her body was discovered, rescuers could not remove it because of hazardous weather conditions. The body was expected to be recovered Sunday.
